Twitch star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has called Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys “weird” amid recent streaming drama and claimed she was only interfering for “clout”..
Right now, drama is breaking out in almost every corner of the streaming industry.
From xQc’s split from Adept, to ItsSliker scamming hundreds of thousands of viewers and other creators to fuel its gambling addiction, to completely banning gambling from the platform, the livestreaming community has been downright chaotic over the past few weeks.
Now xQc has attacked Pokimane, claiming she is “weird” and using the ongoing drama for her own good.
xQc slams Pokimane for acting ‘weird’ and using drama as a punch
During xQc’s live stream on September 21, the streamer stumbled across a clip of Pokimane banging his head back on Corrina, who called her out for “promoting the gambling” – showing her friends’ slot stream on one of their monitors in a old YouTube video was displayed.
Adamant that he wasn’t trying to start drama, the 27-year-old explained how he was surprised to learn that Pokimane consumes gambling content from her friend but is so against the category when it comes to other streamers.
“I’m not picking a bone with poki, okay? I don’t poke around with her, but I was also surprised to see her watching her close friend play in her free time,” xQc admitted. “She was going so hard on the two big players or whatever while still actively watching a close friend do it and never mentioning her name in a conversation about gambling?”
“I think that’s really a problem,” he added. “I think it looks bad, that’s all, I don’t know what to tell you about it.
“I have to be honest with you that you’re extremely adamant about pursuing the two guys while not only does she have a close friend who does, she’s more of a friend of hers than she’s probably ours and actively watching it? I find that strange, sorry. What can I say to that, man? That’s a problem, bitch.”
In a follow-up clip, xQc claimed Poki was using gambling drama for clout. He said: “Mostly yes because I guarantee you there isn’t a single person who is actually against Gamba who is making a massive impact and reaching Twitch who has contacts.
“Twitch staff and managers who they can text, or DM, or they can literally just call the damn phone, right.”
He continued, “Not a single one of them made contact or made any effort to get things going behind the scenes or publicly until there was a wave of f**k Sliker, f**k Scam, f**k Gamba for them jump on the horse gave and go with their hashtag save the world type sh*t. Nobody really cared. No one. text me A testament to anyone who tried to make a difference.”
As of October 18, Twitch’s gambling ban comes into effect and applies to content featuring “slots, roulette, or dice games.”
However, the platform has stated that it will not affect “sports betting, fantasy sports and poker”. Still, the future of gambling on Twitch remains uncertain.
