We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym hosts grand opening on Oct. 1


RACINE – The Bennett family is creating more opportunities for people with disabilities. Their new all-inclusive gym is called We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym.

The family is inviting residents of Racine and Kenosha County to come and play with a purpose, beginning with the opening on October 1, 2022.

A former Racine County Eye Business Spotlight, We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym has a mission to serve people with disabilities. They provide a safe and understanding environment for people to practice without judgement.

The gym is located at 5509 Durand Ave., Suite B, in Racine. Inside the facility there is a variety of sensor-friendly equipment such as trampolines, swings and climbing equipment.

From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., children and adults – both with and without disabilities – can explore the new shop. Company owners Andre and Heather Bennett, along with their son Dawson, will be on hand to meet the community.

Their son’s diagnosis of autism opened their hearts to creating a safe and inclusive space for people with disabilities.

“He (Dawson) is the reason this dream of mine became a reality,” Heather told the Racine County Eye.

“We gave him the official title of ‘Racine County Rock Boy,'” she continued. “He tested the gear as we progressed and moved on.”

Now that the planning is complete, the fun is just beginning.

We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym Grand Opening

Admission is $14 to play. The grand opening will include giveaways, music and raffles.

In addition, My Brother Rocks The Spectrum Foundation will sponsor food for the event. People can explore the set up play area and learn more about the upcoming services.

During open play, parents must stay with their children. In the future, the company will offer breaks, private celebrations and events.
