Migos: Takeoff’s last Instagram story before the fatal shooting

Takeoff, a member of rap trio Migos, was shot dead in Houston, Texas on Tuesday (November 1).

The rapper – full name Kirshnik Khari Ball – is 28 years old.

Police officers were called at about 2:34 a.m. local time (7:34 GMT) to reports of a shooting outside 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley in downtown Houston, where a private party of about 40 people was taking place.

Takeoff and Migos bandmate Quavo were in attendance. Quavo – real name Quavious Keyate Marshall – was not injured in the altercation. The third member of Migos, Offset, was absent.

An argument broke out, reportedly after a dice game, and shots were fired, leading many people to flee the scene in panic.

Takeoff was pronounced dead on the scene. At the time, police did not release the victim’s name but identified him as a black man in his 20s. Takeoff’s deputy was the first to confirm his death, with police confirming shortly after.

His death was mourned by industry figures and fans alike, with tributes to the late rapper pouring in on social media.

Celebrities including James Corden, Drake, SZA, Outkast, and Khloé Kardashian have shared posts remembering the rapper.

So far, no suspects have been arrested with Houston police chief Troy Finner urging witnesses to “come forward” with information about the shooting.

Police, as well as the rapper’s fans, are asking others to remove the graphic video of the incident that has gone viral online.


Offset updated his Twitter image as a tribute to his cousin and groupmate Takeoff

Offset, one of the three members of Migos, has updated his Twitter header and profile picture to feature Takeoff.

As well as being a bandmate, Takeoff is Offset’s first cousin, removed, and Quavo’s nephew.

Beyoncé dedicated her official website homepage to Takeoff

Beyoncé has paid tribute to Takeoff by dedicating the homepage of her website.

Using a black and white image of the late rap star, the message read: “Kirsnick Khari Ball, ‘Takeoff’, 1994 – 2022, Rest in Power.”

Migos have previously expressed their appreciation for Beyoncé, with Takeoff once claiming in an interview that she was “all in the Beyhive, for sure”.

Following the news of Takeoff’s tragic death, worried fans wondered about the status of his bandmates The Migos and his uncle Quavo, who was present at the time of the incident.

According to Houston police, Quavo, who was present at the time of the incident, and Takeoff were at a private party before the fatal shooting.

In the next update, the police tweeted: “Two other victims were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.”
