DDCF is asking carriers to resume service

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has appealed to the transportation agencies that have suspended their goods transportation services in Dimapur due to the disruptions recently caused by some undesirable elements to resume their services in good faith and for the benefit of the city as a whole. DDCF also appealed to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and to register the culprits responsible for creating such a situation and bring them to justice according to the law so that those affected by such undesirable elements can regain confidence in the administration and can start operations without any problems. Meanwhile, it has been announced that the raffle draw has been postponed to November 26th.

Drive against the sale of tobacco in Jalukie

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Peren, conducted the second quarterly enforcement campaign against the sale of prohibited tobacco products in areas within a 100 meter radius of educational establishments under COTPA Act Sec. 6 (a) & (b) on September 20 in the city of Jalukie. According to a DIPR report, the enforcement team confiscated tobacco products from five stores, which were later vandalized at the police station.

Baby Show Competition in Peren

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): On September 22, a district-level baby show competition was organized by the Department of Social Welfare in Peren as part of Poshan Maah 2022 at GBs Hall in Peren City. An official update informed this Peren District Hospital pediatrician, Dr. John Kent, guest speaker on the competition program, spoke about breastfeeding and complementary feeding for infants and young children. The first position was won by the two-year-old princess, while the second and third positions were occupied by Ningchingyile (one year and three months) and Idilu Hega (two and a half years). A total of 70 babies took part in the competition.


LFI College organizes a skills improvement program

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): With the aim of giving students the opportunity to show their skills and learn new skills, the Commerce Department of Livingstone Foundation International College, Dimapur organized a skills improvement program on September 23. Two faculty members, namely Dr. Tainla Mar from the Education Department and Lito Zhimomi from the English Department demonstrated pickle and soap making to the students. The students also demonstrated their skills in making paper bags, scented candles, doormats and tote bags.

MITE is hosting an impromptu debate contest

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): Current Event and Literary Clubs of Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima, organized an open impromptu debate competition on September 23. Representatives from the Aesthetic Club, Cultural Club, Current Event Club, Ecological Club, Literary Club and Red Ribbon Club comprised 13 student teachers who entered the competition. The winners received certificates from the teacher educators. A food festival was also held after the impromptu debate competition.

MHSS Mokokchung Alumni Meeting

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): The annual general meeting of the Alumni Association of Model Higher Secondary School (MHSS), Mokokchung, will be held on September 29 at 6 p.m. on the school premises. Noklak forms district sports council

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): The Noklak district approved the formation of the district sports council. Approval was granted during the monthly Noklak District Planning and Development Committee (DPDB) meeting, held on September 22, chaired by Noklak Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru, in the conference hall of his office. A DIPR report said the House also approved modernization of the PHC at Thonoknyu Headquarters and New Pangsha Village, and registration of the Society of Noklak District Handloom and Handicrafts Council.

Poshan Maah celebrated in Mon

Dimapur, September 24 (EMN): As part of Poshan Maah 2022 celebrations themed “Mahila and Swasthya” (Women and Health) in Hongpoi Village, a cooking competition and show featuring local dishes for Mon bloc was organized on September 20. Laitak Konyak gave a briefing on Poshan Maah , in which he explained that the goal of the celebration was to unite and bring forth creative and indigenous nutritious ways to lead a healthy lifestyle. BDO-cum-BMM RD Block Mon, T Tingyeih Konyak and Hongpoi Village Council Chairman Manto made short speeches in the program led by Block Program Manager, NSRLM, BBMMU Mon, S Yatao Konyak.
