In 1995 Andy asked for a toy from his favorite movie, light year. light year follows legendary space ranger Buzz Lightyear (Chris Evans) as he tries to escape the planet he and his crew have been stuck on for years. Case after case keeps Buzz from completing the mission, but thanks to his friend Sox the Cat (Peter Sohn) and a group of aspiring Space Rangers (Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi and Dale Soules), he now feels more determined than ever to the mission to finally take everyone home. But when a robot army led by Emperor Zurg (James Brolin) emerges and causes even more trouble, Buzz must choose between the world he knows and an unknown future.

Deleted Scenes

  • Deleted Scenes Introduction – Director Angus MacLane presents six scenes, all drawn, voiced, timed and voiced, but not included in the final version of this amazing film – which took five and a half years to make!
  • The Dump – In one of the original opening scenes of LIGHTYEAR, we explore Proxima B with its carnivorous plants, sulfur pits, strange bugs, hot climate and lack of coffee! A well-known space ranger volunteers to risk everything to return to Earth.
  • Polly – Buzz relives childhood memories when he visits an aviation museum commemorating his father. There he finds Polly, his father’s robotic companion bird, who has a very revealing recorded message meant for Buzz!
  • Meet Izzy – After young Izzy and her family (including her brother Maurice) move in next door to Buzz, the adorable, talkative girl storms into Buzz’s house, warms up to Sox and asks Buzz lots of questions.
  • Up in the cave – After his spaceship crashes and he ends up in the young Space Rangers’ bunker, Buzz is introduced to cheesy snacks and a character whose role has been cut due to time. He also receives shocking information about his father.
  • Tilted ship – Star Command Space Rangers of the 56th Airborne Alpha Quadrant meet Buzz and the Space Ranger trainees. Buzz is given a truth serum so he can divulge everything he knows about his father’s connection to the aliens who took over Proxima B.
  • fatherhood – Buzz wakes up in his childhood home where he meets his father who was a time travel pilot like he is. But it turns out he’s on the mothership of the aliens who are destroying Proxima B – and hoping to defeat Buzz too!
