I Stabbed Myself With My Nails’- Hollywood Star Cardi B Tries Her Hands at Tennis Alongside Normani and American Player Taylor Townsend


American tennis star Taylor Townsend was one of the best players on the junior circuit. The 26-year-old was away from the game for over a year while she gave birth to her son Adyn. In the meantime, she worked as an analyst and attended various shows to entertain her fans.

In one such collaboration, the American teamed up with Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B to teach her some tennis moves. Popular American singer and dancer Normani also made an appearance as a special guest.

Taylor Townsend teaches Cardi B tennis

Earlier this year, popular rapper Cardi B accepted a challenge in the Facebook watch series. In an episode of “‘Cardi tried’. She teamed up with Normani and tried her hand at tennis. She had a capable tutor at Taylor Townsend to learn the basics of the game. The trio hit the court at the Burbank Tennis Center.

Cardi B later spoke about her experiences on the tennis court. “It’s hard to see. I think I stabbed myself with my nails. We worked hard and got cut and I gotta lose the nail then I gotta get it. But we had a great coach.” She said.

Townsend advances to US Open doubles final

As we’ve seen over the years, it’s always been difficult for female athletes to come back to full fitness after giving birth. Taylor Townsend also faced numerous challenges on her road to return. However, the 26-year-old finally got her momentum back at the US Open. Despite dropping out of the first round in singles, she did great in women’s doubles.

Together with their compatriot Caty McNally, the duo stormed into the final. The Americans started their campaign against pair Nuria Parrizas-Diaz and Arantxa Rus and recorded an easy, clear win. In addition, the American duo strengthened from game to game and after another win in straight sets they reached the semifinals. After a three-set victory in the semifinals, they met the Czech couple Kateřina Siniaková and Barbora Krejčíková in the final.

After winning the first set, the Czechs came back stronger and took the second set. In the decider, Siniaková and Krejčíková proved too strong for the American duo and won the match 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.
