DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church, 857 Java Road, Java will resume its monthly Wellness Walking service on Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church and will meet every fourth Saturday. ANNIVERSARIES

New Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, 375 Ephesus Church Road, Semora, North Carolina, is celebrating its 150th anniversary as a church Sunday at 11 a.m. Host Pastor Bishop Gerald Franklin and the congregation will welcome visiting minister Bishop J. Lewis Moore II of Hope Center Church in Mineral and the church family. Music will be performed by guest visitors and the New Ephesus Praise Team. A memorial journal providing a pictorial history of the Church was created. Pre-ordered copies will be distributed during the anniversary celebration. All proceeds from the sale of the books will be donated to the New Ephesus Ministry of Scholarships and the Building Fund. MINISTRY OF FOOD AND CLOTHING

Union Hall Food Pantry & Department of Clothing, 6861 Strawberry Street, Chatham, will be open on October 1st from 9am to 12pm with all kinds of clothing and food to meet the needs of the community.

COMMUNITY DAY

Lutheran Ascension Church, 314 West Main St. Sunday services at 11 a.m. in the Shrine and live on Facebook at www.facebook/ascensionlutherandanville.

Mount Vernon United Methodist Church now offers in-person worship services every Sunday at 10 a.m., as well as online worship services every Sunday at mtvernonumc.org or www.facebook.com/MountVernonUMC. These will take place until further notice.

PERSONAL SERVICES

Lutheran Christ the King Church, 1172 Franklin Turnpike, will have house services Sundays at 11am. Masking required if not vaccinated. Social distancing except for family members. Free books are always available in the outdoor library, perched on a post next to the driveway.

Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 406 Gay St., has in-person services on the first and third Sundays at 10 a.m. for their Hour of Power.

North New Hope Baptist Church, 123 Old Piney Forest Road, has resumed services at 11 am and Sunday school at 9:30 pm

Mount Sinai Glorious Church of God, 716 Jefferson St., will hold services in the Shrine with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and Morning Service at 10:30 a.m. Participants are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The service will also be streamed on Facebook.

Mount Freeman Baptist Church, 2100 Laniers Mill Road, hosts a personal service on Sundays at 11am. There is no Sunday school.

DRIVE-IN SERVICES

Staunton River Baptist Church, Long Island will hold drive-in services every Sunday at 10:00 am.

ONGOING SERVICES

Heart of Jesus Catholic Church celebrates Mass every weekend with a Vigil Mass on Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9pm in English and midday in Spanish.

Watson Level Missionary Baptist Church holds Sunday services at 11 a.m. each week. Due to COVID-19, a face mask is required for all attendees and social distancing is mandatory.

Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 2450 Franklin Turnpike will hold Ladies Need Encouragement, an hour of worship and prayer, every Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a Bible and practice social distancing.
