Bullring JD Sports store to double in size for Summer 2023

The new, bigger and better JD Sports Store is slated to open in summer 2023 and create more than 40 new jobs at Bullring & Grand Central

The major sporting goods retailer has been in the bull ring since 2003 and will open a new 27,500 square foot store on the lower level. This will replace the former Sports Direct store in the lower mall.

The new store will stock more assortments of popular brands such as Nike, Adidas, Under Armor and Converse, giving shoppers a wider choice of curated products.

The store is slated to open in the summer of 2023 and will create more than 40 new jobs at Bullring & Grand Central, owned by real estate giant Hammerson.

The deal is another feather in Bullring’s hat. This summer it was the official provider of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, offering exclusive access to a range of new EV charging points for the games electric vehicle fleet and was chosen as the location for the official merchandise store. It’s also home to the Birmingham Weekender, B-Side Hip-Hop Festival, Pride and Its Carnival.

Last November it was announced that M&S ​​and TOCA Social would revitalize a former department store, while designer fashion brand Tessuti – a JD Sports brand – will open its largest offering in the West Midlands at The Bullring in 2023. Miniso – a Chinese lifestyle products retailer – also opened its doors in the shopping destination this month.
