Today’s boxing includes two outstanding British bills and Floyd Mayweather’s latest big money exhibition fight.
In Manchester, Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker battle it out in a world-class heavyweight bout for the WBO contingency. As Amanda Serrano continues her quest for the undisputed featherweight crown, she takes on IBF champion Sarah Mahfoud in a unification bout for three of the four major sanctioning body belts.
Two hours later in Nottingham, Maxi Hughes and Kid Galahad go head-to-head in a must-win lightweight competition. On the same map, Scotland’s Hannah Rankin defends her WBA (super) super welterweight belt against former WBC super featherweight beltter Terri Harper, who is a staggering 24 pounds heavier than when she was world champion.
Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather’s show goes on as he takes part in his fourth exhibition bout against Japanese MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura in Saitama. TBE will reportedly pocket £18.2m ($20m) for their efforts.
