Area Students Receive Thousands in Scholarships from Central Minnesota Community Foundation


(KNSI) — The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to local students.

According to a statement in a press release from CMCF Executive Director Greta Stark-Kkerker, “We are grateful to have donors in our region who truly see the value of supporting our youth in the region through the provision of scholarships. We know that as we help a student succeed in higher education, we will see the benefits of this investment in our communities.”

Scholarship recipients for the 2022-2023 school year are:

Albany High School’s Alexis Zierden received $2,000 from the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship Fund
Apollo High School’s Aidan Kuhn received $450 from the Dick and Dorothy Putz Scholarship Fund
Samantha Lawson of Apollo High School received $1,200 from the Paul Host Scholarship Fund
Allan Sana of Apollo High School received $2,000 from the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship Fund
Skylee Blomquist of Becker High School received $2,000 from the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship Fund
Cathedral High School’s Meghan Corbett received $2,000 from the Bernick Family Scholarship Fund
Eleanor Pelzel of Cathedral High School received $1,000 from the Andy and Carol Hilger Pro-Life Scholarship Fund
Emma Eken of Eden Valley-Watkins High School received $1,000 from the Christine Olivia Maul Memorial Fund

These grants are part of the $355,500 academic grant scholarships awarded to 110 students from the upper Midwest for the 2022-2023 school year. communitygiving administers 139 separate scholarship funds set up by individuals, families and corporations to support local students in their educational pursuits.
