Is there anything Amitabh Bachchan can’t do?

The 79-year-old, who is currently hosting the 14th season of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, will lend his voice to an upcoming OTT show, The Journey of India.

Announced as a “one of a kind series,” it will premiere October 10 on Discovery Channel, TLC, Discovery Science, and Discovery Turbo.

Why is this story important?

  • Bachchan’s baritone has been used several times in several projects for exhibitions (flashbacks, background information).
  • lagan, Jodha Akbar, Kric 3, Fun2shh… types in the 10th centuryand the recently released one Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva are some of the popular films that benefited immensely from his impressive voiceovers.
  • Furthermore, The Journey of India is also important as it celebrates Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav – India’s 75 years of independence.

According to reports, “The show will commemorate India’s tapestry of heritage, innovation and contemporary marvels that paved the way for groundbreaking advances.”

The series is expected to cover quite a bit on a variety of topics and “weaves a story with an extensive collection of historical footage [and] have contributions from an outstanding lineup of respected figures and subject matter experts.”

The Journey of India will highlight India’s achievements in various fields such as breakthrough technological advances, successful space missions, cinematic achievements, etc.

It is also expected to underscore the numerous faiths that coexist in the country, as well as our myriad culinary practices.

Arjun Nohwar, general manager for South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, has described it as “[the company’s] commitment to [tell] unique, [inspiring] stories.”

Bachchan has always been a busy man and had three releases this year: Jhund, runway 34and Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.

Next he is seen inside Goodbyealong with Neena Gupta and Rashmika Mandanna on October 7th.

He also has Uunchai in the pipeline on November 11th.

Sooraj Barjatya’s direction, starring Boman Irani and Anupam Kher, is being touted as a story of deep friendship.
