The 10th The Macau International Travel (Industry) Expo (referred to as “Expo” or “MITE”) will be held September 23-25, 2022 at Halls A – B of the Cotai Expo of Venetian Macau. Unveiled this Friday with free admission to the public, the expo will showcase seven major highlights driving cross-industry integration of ‘Tourism +’th Anniversary. Under the motto “Cheers to 10th MITE” allows members of tourism and related sectors to network, forge partnerships and explore business opportunities together.

Seven major highlights with new zones and pavilions to deepen Tourism + integration

The expo will feature seven major highlights and will incorporate new elements for deeper integration into “Tourism +”. The cloud series is enriched. New items will be spotlighted, including the Lusofonia Pavilion, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the Macao Wedding Destination Pavilion, and the Palace Museum as a new exhibitor. The Macao Tourism Industry Zone will not only build “Macao Street” again, but also the COTAI Strip for the first time. The Expo will continue to promote local cultural and creative products. “City of Gastronomy” Culinary demonstrations and the “Gastronomy Pavilion” will welcome guests like last year in the midst of a fascinating variety of highlights.

Many tourist presentations, forums and activities

There will be about 50 tourism presentations, forums and activities, including tourism presentations and activities organized by provinces and municipalities in the mainland, March 2nd and 31stnd Macau Wedding Destination Forum 2022 and the Greater Bay Area High-Level Tourism Development Forum 2022 – “Development of the Intensive Cooperation Zone and a World Center for Tourism and Leisure” to allow participants to learn more about industry trends and tourism resources of various destinations.

The exhibition area covers around 23,000 square meters and will accommodate over 830 booths this year. The event will appeal to exhibitors and buyers online and offline. Around 428 exhibitors have registered to take part so far. There are 199 local exhibitors and 229 mainland exhibitors offline, and 26 online exhibitors (including 23 international exhibitors and 3 mainland exhibitors). There are 317 buyers in total, including 236 offline and 81 online buyers.

Schedule a visit and get a 10 pataca receipt as consumption quota

The 10th MITE is open to the public on September 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., September 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and September 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and visitors can schedule a visit on the MITE website (www.mitexpo.mo) and present their appointment QR code upon entry to receive a 10 pataca receipt that counts toward their consumption quota, which is set for the Entrance to “Mak Mak Land” Grand Lucky requires drawing. The public can also queue for entry without an appointment, depending on the flow of visitors on the day. Tickets are available free of charge at the entrances to Halls A and C of the Venetian Macau’s Cotai Expo. During the Expo, a free shuttle bus service will be provided on three routes between the venue and a total of four local points. Free parking spaces are available for residents in Hall C.

Online and offline activities to participate

Many new online and offline activities are being added to the MITE program this year, including the Shake to Travel Around the World online game, the Mak Mak Land Grand Raffle, the Top 10 Most Popular Stand Vote and the MITE themed tour as part of the Stay, Dine and See Macao project. To celebrate the 10thth To mark the anniversary, the Stay, Dine and See Macao project will launch the $10 community tour routes during the three-day expo, encouraging residents to experience the colorful dynamics of local communities.

Strict compliance with COVID prevention measures

In accordance with the guidance of the Public Health Department, the Expo will again implement a series of pandemic prevention measures such as disinfecting the venue and staggered admission times. As before, an online appointment allocation system is put into operation in order to guarantee “admission quotas, advance scheduling, staggered times”. Individuals must present their valid Macau health code in green, scan the venue code, have their temperature checked upon entry, wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

UFI recognized international event

The first edition of MITE took place in 2013. MGTO has assumed the role of organizer since 2016, striving to provide Macao’s unique strengths and impact as a platform, driving the concerted development of “Tourism+” sectors and helping trade to network, forge partnerships and seize business opportunities. In 2021, MITE received accreditation as a UFI Approved International Event from the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), showing the world its international influence and professionalism.
