MACAU, September 23 – Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, organized by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and coordinated by the Macau Travel Agency Association, the 10thth The Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (referred to as “Expo” or “MITE”) has officially started today (September 23) and will last until September 25. The Expo will again run in a hybrid online and offline format. Seven key highlights are presented to drive integration across ‘Tourism +’ sectors. Under the advertising slogan “Cheers to 10th MITE” on 10th th anniversary, members of tourism and related sectors from around the world will be brought together to network, forge partnerships and explore business opportunities together.

Minister of Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong remarked in his speech that MITE has been continuously striving for improvement and innovation for years. The Expo is taking place for the tenth time and reaches a new milestone. 771 exhibitors and buyers take part online and offline
The 10th MITE will be held September 23-25 at Halls A-B, Cotai Expo of Venetian Macau and offers free admission to the public. The exhibition area covers around 23,000 square meters and houses 830 booths. The event integrates exhibitors and buyers online and offline. 454 exhibitors participate in the expo, including 199 local exhibitors and 229 mainland exhibitors offline, and 26 online exhibitors (including 23 international exhibitors and 3 mainland exhibitors). There are 317 buyers in total, including 236 offline and 81 online buyers.
Seven Key Highlights for Deepening Tourism + Integration and Expanding the Diversity of Business Opportunities
On his 10thth th anniversary, the Expo integrates new elements for a deeper integration of “Tourism +”. Various new elements will be spotlighted at the Expo, including the Lusofonia Pavilion, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the Macao Wedding Destination Pavilion, and the Palace Museum as a new exhibitor. The Macao Tourism Industry Zone not only establishes “Macao Street” again, but also the COTAI Strip for the first time. The Expo continues to promote local cultural and creative products. “City of Gastronomy” Culinary demonstrations and the “Gastronomy Pavilion” welcome guests like last year in the midst of a fascinating variety of highlights. Free entry for the public
The 10th MITE is open to the public on September 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., September 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and September 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and visitors can schedule a visit on the MITE website (www.mitexpo.mo) or queue for entry without an appointment, depending on the flow of visitors for the day. Tickets are available free of charge at the entrances to Halls A and C of the Venetian Macau’s Cotai Expo. During the Expo, a free shuttle bus service will be provided on three routes between the venue and a total of four local points. Free parking spaces are available for residents in Hall C.
Strict compliance with COVID prevention measures
According to the instructions of the health department, the expo is taking a number of pandemic prevention measures such as disinfecting the venue and staggered admission times. The online appointment system is put into operation to ensure “admission quotas, advance scheduling, staggering”. Individuals must present their valid Macau health code in green, scan the venue code, have their temperature checked upon entry, wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

The first edition of MITE took place in 2013. MGTO has been the organizer since 2016. In 2021, MITE received accreditation from the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) as a UFI Approved International Event, showing the world its international influence and professionalism.
